Spring has brought lots of activity to the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society with a trio of new horses added. Two pacers, Southwind Razor and Fast As Phelps, and one trotter, Rose Run Unclebuck, are the latest additions to the program.
Of the three, Southwind Razor was the most successful at the racetrack earning just over $70,000 during a career that spanned eight years and 124 lifetime starts. A 12 year-old gelding by Art Major, Razor’s second dam is the top race mare Roses For Emma who was driven a few times in her long career (155 starts, $418,000) by OSAS director Bill O’Donnell.
The other pacer joining OSAS is the Mach Three son Fast As Phelps who took in just over $27,000 on the racetrack. Bred by Hall of Famer Bob McIntosh, Fast As Phelps’s second dam is a Camluck full sister to Go West Lucky Cam ($445,310) and $266,000 winner Wit And Wisdom.
Rose Run Unclebuck is the new trotter to OSAS. A winner of $51,000 after 33 career starts, the six-year-old gelding is by Uncle Peter. His dam, Tameka Seelster, earned over $181,000 and is a half-sister to $730,000 winner Traverse Seelster.
