OSAS ambassador The Painted Pony filled in as Mohawk’s outrider's horse on Saturday (January 22). Joanne Colville’s usual mount, Jay, is recovering from a foot abscess and his regular replacement, Sniper, requested the evening off.
The Painted Pony, an usually coloured son of Lindy Lane, is one of three OSAS ambassadors showcased at various events to demonstrate the versatility of the Standardbred horse.
Pony was featured, along with the other ambassadors – Hiltons Hot Stuff, Reverend Hanover and the now adopted Ruff Me Up in a series of note cards created last year by noted equine artist Michelle Hogan. In cooperation with Ontario Racing, the note cards were part of OSAS’s 25th anniversary celebrations in 2021.
They are still available to purchase (eight cards, two of each horse, for $12). To order email: osasadmin@bellnet.ca.
