The Painted Pony, one of OSAS’s ambassadors, will be on hand at Leamington Raceway as part of their popular Kids’ Day this Sunday (September 4). Post time is 1 p.m.
Fans of all ages will have a chance to meet and take a picture with the uniquely coloured The Painted Pony in addition to many other fun activities including face painting, behind the scenes tours and prizes.
On hand with The Painted Pony will be OSAS’s administrator Joanne Colville and her daughter Emma Christoforou. It will be a busy day for Emma, who earned her training license two years ago, as she has three horses racing at Leamington on Sunday afternoon, Inked In Pink in race one and Classylaneprecious and Millennium Seelster in race eight.
Emma and The Painted Pony have been a long and successful partnership as they have competed successfully in numerous horse shows as well as served as outriders at several Ontario racetracks.
A 17 year-old trotter, The Painted Pony has been retired from racing for 12 years, but he’s kept busy in his role as ambassador demonstrating the versatility of the Standardbred horse.
