Bulldog Tenacity & Hill Of A Colt Join OSAS
Two geldings, Bulldog Tenacity and Hill Of A Colt, are the newest arrivals at the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society.
Bulldog Tenacity was certainly aptly named as he made just under 300 starts in his long and successful racing career which concluded last year at the mandatory retirement age of 14.
A son of Rambaran, the gelding is one of the few, fortunate horses to be owned and trained by the same person throughout his career. Bill Kirkpatrick bred Bulldog Tenacity and trained and owned him for the duration his racing life which spanned from age three through 14. In total Bulldog made 291 starts with a summary of 40-45-34 for $251,967 in earnings.
The now 15 year-old gelding started his career at the now defunct Windsor Raceway and raced at 11 different tracks over the years with his home oval being London’s Western Fair. Kirkpatrick also raced his dam, the On The Road daughter Vartanian who earned $44,000 in her career. She had four foals in her broodmare career with Bulldog being her final one.
Hill Of A Colt is an eight-year-old son of the great Muscle Hill. A beautiful, tall trotter, the gelding had 12 lifetime wins in 34 trips behind the gate for $141,000 in earnings. Gregg McNair trained the half-brother to $1.5 million winner JL Cruze throughout his career.
Bulldog Tenacity and Hill Of A Colt just joined the OSAS program and will settle in before starting training for their new careers.
